Our Good Food project
aims to improve the knowledge and the visibility of food sovereignty and agroecology in Croatia as interconnected and overlapping concepts, which is why it pays great attention to the promotion and the education on the subject of good food, but also to supporting real examples through networking and knowledge sharing. The aim of the project is also to support activists from all over the region by opening a space where they can get to know each other, exchange experience and knowledge, and find new partners in activism or production.
A special part of the project is dedicated to the work on seed preservation and the exchange of know-how, since as of this year ZMAG has been operating as the Community Seed Bank in Croatia. As part of the project, an educational brochure Community Seed Bank was issued and an international roundtable was organized on the topics of local seed preservation and the new EU Regulation on Organic Production (2018/848), which will be applied from the 1st of January 2021. One of ZMAG’s goals is to support this process of adaptation with the aforementioned roundtable which should gather all interested stakeholders around it: decision makers and public institutions, scientific sector and experts, network of organic food producers, environmental organizations, experts in laws and regulations.
